FAQ
Straight answers.
Is there a contract or lock-in? +
No. Monthly plans run month to month and you can cancel with 30 days' notice. Setup is paid 50% upfront and 50% when it goes live. Your WhatsApp number, Google listing and everything we set up stay yours.
What if the assistant answers a customer wrong? +
It can happen, so we plan for it. It only answers from what we teach it, it hands over to you whenever it is unsure, and we read through its chats every month and fix anything weak. You can take over any chat at any time.
Do I keep my own WhatsApp number? +
Yes. Smart WhatsApp runs on the free WhatsApp Business app on your own number. Nothing moves to us.
Are there costs you do not control? +
A few, and we tell you upfront. Meta charges a small amount per assistant reply: we include up to R250 a month and pass anything above that on at cost. Ad spend goes straight to Meta and Google from your card. Payment gateways charge per transaction, and Shopify bills you in US dollars if we build on it.
How fast is it live? +
Smart WhatsApp and the Starter Bundle are usually live within a week, and we need about 45 minutes of your time once. Websites and stores take two to three weeks.
Do I need a website already? +
No. Most of our clients start with only a WhatsApp number. We set up what is missing and nothing you do not need.
Where are you based, and do you work outside Durban? +
We are in Durban and work with businesses across South Africa. Everything is set up and supported remotely, so your location never limits you.
Is this POPIA compliant? +
Yes. Customers are told when they are chatting to an assistant, consent is captured before we message anyone, and every monthly plan includes a POPIA operator agreement covering how your customers' data is handled.
Why not just switch the WhatsApp assistant on myself? +
You can, and switching it on takes minutes. Making it answer well is the work: teaching it your prices and rules, deciding what it must hand to you, testing it, and keeping it right every time something changes. That is what you pay us for, so you can get on with running the business.
